This week in the SFM Network, big news is coming out of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The Elizabethtown Sports Park and Athletx Sports Group partnership continues to grow with the additional partnership of TravelBall Select (TBS). On October 8th, 2020, TBS officially partnered with the national baseball group Athletx, which also includes Gameday USA, Pastime Athletics and Versus among their many other brands. With the addition of TBS to the Athletx family, TBS will relocate their National Championship to the Elizabethtown Sports Park in 2021. General Manager Todd Yancey said, “We are extremely excited to add this tournament and the caliber of teams that come with it to our already exciting lineup in 2021. Bringing premier tournaments to the “The Perfect Place to Play”, will provide a new audience an opportunity to experience all that E’town has to offer. We look forward to welcoming these athletes and their families to our community as we become the new home of the TBS National Championship.”

The nationally recognized event is especially important as 2021 will be the 10th anniversary of the annual championship. TBS Nationals is a ranked tournament and is highly competitive, requiring an invitation for elite teams. The Elizabethtown Sports Park will now be home to the coveted event that brings in hundreds of players and thousands of visitors annually.

Aaron Flaker, Athletx Co-Founder, said “I am personally familiar with the TBS Championship, as I coached a nationally ranked team that finished runner-up in the event in 2018 and 2019. Our players and families loved the elite-level focus of the event, and always appreciated that we were hand-selected and personally invited by Rick (Goff Partner & President of) Travelball Select. As far as Athletx goes, we are very excited to bring the TBS National Championships to Kentucky for 2021. It’s a natural fit given that the area is already home to many other elite-level champions and sports brands.”
